The legal version
Terms of service
Last updated 19 September 2026. The plain-language version of the four commitments below lives on the For musicians page; this is the same thing written so you can hold us to it.
Our commitments
1. We will not use audio, artwork or any other material you upload to train a machine-learning model, and we will not sell, licence or otherwise transfer it to a third party for that purpose. Automated genre analysis of your own upload, performed on our servers and retained for no other use, is not training.
2. We will not display advertising to listeners — no ads, no sponsored placements — and we will not place recorded music behind a payment requirement for listeners. Paid features, when they exist, will be sold to account holders and will not restrict who may listen.
3. We will not rank or filter a musician's catalogue by any personalised or paid-placement algorithm. Where the service publishes a chart, it will state the single measure it ranks by and apply it identically to every account.
4. We will provide every account holder, at no charge and without conditions, a complete export of the material they have uploaded together with its metadata, in open and documented formats, for as long as the account exists.
If we ever need to change one of these four, we will say so on this page and on the For musicians page before the change takes effect, not after.
Your account
You need an account to upload. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for everything done through your account. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
You can sign in with an emailed link, with a password you set, or with Google. If you use Google, Google tells us basic details from your Google account, such as your name and email address. Our Privacy page says what we keep.
Ask us to delete your account and we will, along with everything you have uploaded — there is no self-service button for it yet. Export first: deletion removes your uploads from the service, and we cannot recover them for you afterwards.
Your content, and who owns it
You keep every right you had in your music before you uploaded it. We claim no ownership of it and no share of anything you earn from it.
You grant us only the permission the service technically needs in order to run: to store your files, to make the copies and formats required to stream them, and to show them to the people you have chosen to show them to. That permission ends when you delete the material or your account.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. If a track is not yours to publish, do not publish it here.
Acceptable use
Do not upload material that infringes someone else's rights, that is unlawful, or that is designed to harass another person. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, and do not use automated means to inflate play counts.
We may remove material or suspend an account that breaches this section. Where we do, we will say why, and your export remains available to you.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and to keep your files safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable and we cannot act as your only copy — keep your own masters.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of material for which you held no other copy.
Contact
Questions about these terms, a takedown request, or anything else: reply to any email the service has sent you, or use the contact form.
